SHEPHERD

Do you have a passion for farming and all things Agriculture?  We have a full time permanent position available on one of our breeding/finishing properties close to Hastings. We are a large scale mixed cropping and livestock business operating on prime cropping ground through to steep but well developed hill country running high performance prime lamb and beef operations. Our stock policies consist of winter lamb finishing; a Wagyu cow herd, calving down and growing out replacements; backgrounding Wagyu steers and heifers for both grass finished markets and grain finished feedlot programmes; and bull beef both store to store and prime. A range of paddock sizes provide good mustering opportunities as well as the chance for further development in intensive finishing systems, pasture management and modern farming practices. Alongside exposure to our livestock and cropping operations there is plenty to learn from associated support networks in agronomy, land development and fencing. SHEPHERD – FIXED TERM

Do you have a passion for farming and all things Agriculture?  We have a fixed term Shepherd position available on our farm 20 minutes south of Hastings with immediate start through to early November. This role is across two of our properties assisting the team through the peak of our winter lamb programme. The properties finish around 30 – 40,000 lambs between them as well as running similar cattle policies with Fresian bulls and a Wagyu cow herd. There is opportunity for further work on our cropping operations post November. AGRONOMY OPERATIONS MANAGER

Brownrigg Agriculture is a progressive agricultural business, having both cropping and livestock interests growing high quality food and produce. We supply to NZ and the world from our operations based 20-minutes south of Hastings. WAGYU FEEDLOT ASSISTANT

Do you enjoy working with beef animals? Are you mechanically minded and enjoy consistent machine work? We may just have the opportunity for you! We seek an enthusiastic and driven person for a fulltime permanent role as Wagyu Feedlot Assistant in our small energetic team, located 20 minutes south of Hastings. Reporting to the Feedlot Manager, high motivation and drive to complete daily jobs in a timely manner and to specification is a key requirement to the role. Responsibilities include: Safely driving machinery in confined spaces Feed management within a tight routine Dry bed rotations Monitoring animal welfare Complying with Health and Safety obligations Some knowledge of feeding out systems is advantageous, but not essential. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes: Practical machinery driving experience is essential i.e. tractors, loaders or trucks and a practical sense to carry out basic maintenance and repairs.
