From field to packhouse, from fert store to field, from paddock to plant, from packhouse to port – we need some classy Class 5 drivers to keep our business moving. Brownrigg Agriculture is a large, progressive farming enterprise with operations across livestock and cropping. Our base is 20 minutes south of Hastings in sunny Hawke’s Bay, and we are about to head into our busiest time of year. We need some competent crew members to keep our well maintained truck fleet ticking over. You will have at least a couple of years of Class 5 driving experience under your belt. A key role is picking up our squash and onions from the field and delivering them to our packhouses – you need experience to be able to judge tight gateways and navigate unsealed tracks. Previous experience transporting livestock would be an advantage, though not necessary for our fixed term roles. We also do general cartage, carting fertiliser, wool, and the like. Our fixed term roles run through April 2021, but we are also looking for permanent drivers to get our team up to full strength. You will be physically fit and have a clean Full NZ Class 5 licence. You will have the flexibility to work extended hours if required – but know that we take our responsibility as a safe employer seriously. We are looking for some seasonal superstars to bolster our team to help us get our squash, onions, and maize in and out of the fertile Hawkes Bay soils. These seasonal fixed-term positions start in early September and run through until the end of April 2021. For the right person, this could develop into a permanent role. The right people will have: At least two years tractor operating experience, preferably in cropping but other types also welcome. A current full Class 1 driver’s licence with a good driving history. A solid work ethic with a practical approach to problem solving. A willingness to embrace technology and precision agriculture. Brownrigg Agriculture is the pioneer of Wagyu beef breeding in NZ and we are looking for someone with the same practical, problem-solving mindset to help us perfect our finishing feedlot. Nestled in the hills of the Poukawa Valley, 20 minutes south of Hastings, our Wagyu cattle are being carefully managed to supply marbled meat so tender that it commands some of the highest premiums in the world.
