Flexible hours, fixed-term farm hand at Wagyu stud

Brownrigg Agriculture, through its wholly owned subsidiary Wagyu Breeders Ltd, farms the largest fullblood Wagyu herd in New Zealand. Investment in the best genetics and breeding technologies ensure that we are at the forefront of this industry.

It’s calving time at our Central Hawke’s Bay stud block, and our manager needs an extra set of hands to help around the farm. You will need to have good cattle handling skills and be confident around cows with calves at foot. This role assists with collecting all the physical data you need to operate a stud so you will be getting yourself between cow and calf. You will be able to put up (and take down) hot wires to assist with grazing management. You will be experienced at driving side-by-sides and/or 4-wheelers. You will be comfortable working on your own and in a small team. We don’t expect you to be a computer programmer for NASA, but you will be able to use basic smartphone-based technology.

We are flexible around roster – we imagine this role could be a few days a week, or half days all week. For the right candidate we can look at options for creating something full-time. Brownrigg Agriculture is a diverse farming business and we are heading into a busy time of year. What is not negotiable is that we need you to be able to start ASAP as calves are already hitting the ground.

Brownrigg Agriculture is a large, progressive farming business with operations across livestock and cropping. You can view more about our business online at www.brownrigg.co.nz.
